Last March, a blog post titled “What Students Really Need to Hear” by PHS teacher Chase Mielke went viral. (https://affectiveliving.wordpress.com/2014/03/08/what-students-really-need-to-hear/) It resurfaced in the fall when the post many found to be inspiring was turned into a video. Now, almost five months later, a new post on the same blog is getting students talking. However, this one is different. It is a response to Mielke’s original post written by Angela Millar ’16. The article, posted Feb. 18, has surfaced all over the web with shares on Facebook and mentions on Instagram.
“I am more than a letter. We are more than a letter. We are only in your classroom for a sliver of our lives. But when you teach—when you really teach —you are there forever,” finished Millar.
