Turn the radio on and let the Christmas jingles play! It’s Christmas! Eggnog, chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, gingerbread houses– Christmas tastes good! Snowmen, sledding, snow days, Christmas break!
It’s hard to tell what the best part of Christmas is.
“The good person in me wants to say spending time with family. But the reality is that the presents are what I wait for each year at Christmas,” said Austin Rohr ‘15.
Or there’s always “Christ’s birth,” as Derek Snyder ‘15 says.
We all know that Christmas as a child is a lot different than Christmas as a teenager. From believing in Santa and seeing him at the mall, to carrying it on with your younger siblings or younger family members.
“I remember always watching “A Christmas Story” with my family when I was little,” says Alexis Stevens ‘16. “We don’t watch it much anymore now that I’m older,” Stevens continued.
“I feel that now I can enjoy most of the Christmas movies, because I’m old enough to understand everything in them,” says Abby Ernst ‘16, “but I’ve always loved the music regardless of what my age was,” continued Ernst.
Christmas traditions are great for all ages. Some things change as time goes on. But, all in all, Christmas brings families together in such positive ways.
Theres so many things to talk about when it comes to Christmas, it could make this story ten pages long. Christmas is all about being kind spirited. Be happy and have all the fun you can this year! Be thankful for all the presents you get! And don’t forget to leave cookies and milk!
