“The ceremony went very smooth and Mrs. Kohn had a great speech,” said teacher and NHS adviser Andrew Hansen. According to him, his year’s ceremony was a success, inducting 7 seniors, 54 juniors, and 12 exchange students as new members on top of the 52 students already part of the NHS.
Darlene Kohn’s speech was focused on the idea of failure, and the sentiment that if you never fail, you will never learn anything from it and you won’t succeed if you don’t take chances.
The officers this year, President Colleen Loftus, Vice President Emma Varley, Secretary Max Fitzell, Treasurer Elizabeth Gorton, Web Designer Maya Buck, were tasked keeping everything organized and running smoothly during the ceremony.
The ceremony lasted about 45 minutes,allowing attendees time to meet with their kids, to congratulate enjoy some desserts afterwards.
