Deer hunting season brings about many seasonal traditions and food items in Michigan. The latest is Arby’s new venison sandwich, available Nov. 12. This limited time sandwich features a thick-cut piece of venison steak topped with crispy onions and a juniper sauce on a toasted specialty roll. The venison will be cooked for three hours after marinating in garlic, salt, and pepper creating a juicy tender perfection. The juniper berry sauce is a cabernet steak sauce infused with juniper berries.
This sandwich is offered at 17 Arby’s restaurants across America, chosen within heavy deer hunting areas. The M 89 location in Plainwell is one of four in the state of Michigan chosen to offer the promotional sandwich.
“It is very cool that out of all the Arby’s stores they trust us to provide the venison sandwich for them” said Kevin Laforge.
“It’s an honor to be chosen, there are only 4 stores out of Michigan that are participating. I only wish we had more product. I can’t wait for next year when we will have plenty of supply for our customers” said Dan Burch.
There are also a few very important things that customers need to remember when they come in.
The promotion of the venison sandwich will be going through November 12th to the 14th with only a limited supply.
“This sandwich was just supposed to be a trial which is why it has only been advertised on social media and the radio. Which means we only have a limited amount. The interest in the sandwich is also more than a hundred times than anticipated” said Burch.
“It sounds like a delicious sandwich and I would love to be able to taste test it before everyone else gets to eat it” said Cody Hulbert.
Burch has also been doing his best reminding his customers that since there is a limited supply he will be limiting two sandwiches to a person with good intentions that more customers will have the opportunity to try the new sandwich.
A few workers at Plainwell Arby’s had a few things to say when asked about the new venison sandwich.
“We have received over 150 calls within the last ten days about our new sandwich. There is anticipation of an increase of 50 to 60 percent sales increase as well as a line at the door when our store opens” said Burch.
“It’s a big honor to be able to sell these sandwiches to the public. I am very excited to try the sandwich even though everything will be gone in 15 minutes” said Cale Lyon.
“I am very excited about the new venison sandwich. There are supposed to be so many people coming to get them” said Hulbert.
Most Arby’s stores featuring the item sold out within an hour, and some within 15 Minutes.
