At the beginning of RTI on Tuesday, this year’s senior meeting for 2016
got under way. Whether students saw the meeting as a chance to get out of RTI, as a waste of
time, or as time to catch up with friends, the meeting itself covered many important topics for

graduation. Among them were:
- Grad Bash will be on May 26, and will be at a secret location. The venue will include a pool, pizza bar, monstrous amounts of ice cream, and some surprise entertainment.
- Community Service needs to be in to office secretary Sue Gower by May 1. At least 40 hours are required by every student to be able to make that walk at graduation.
- Speech tryouts are on May 4 with teacher Sheelagh Straub. She insists that the speeches should be no more than two or three minutes long. The two speakers who are chosen will be chosen by May 20.
After less than 45 minutes, many hours of planning and organizing were all covered in
detail before the senior class, and they were sent away.
One detail most seniors already knew from being envious last year: seniors do not have to
report to school on Tuesday, April 12, since that is testing day for everyone else. The following is
the schedule for the week we return from spring break:
- Monday
- First day back after spring break
- Tuesday
- Freshman will take the PSAT and can leave school at noon
- Sophomores are also taking the PSAT and can leave at 1 pm
- Juniors will take the SAT
- Seniors are not required to attend
- There will be no RTI
- Wednesday
- Juniors take the Work Keys test
- Half of the class will test during the morning, the other half during the afternoon
- Thursday
- Juniors take the M-STEP test
- Testing will be split the same as for the Work Keys test
- Their will be no RTI
