Remember when you got a new pair of Heelys or Crocs and felt like the coolest person in the world? Well Heelys and Crocs may be coming back into style!
Plainwell High School may be bringing back with Heelys and Crocs. Students are going out and buying them like they did when they were younger.
Plainwell High School administration wants to stop the comeback of Heelys though. They released an email to staff banning them on Feb 8, saying that after a single warning detentions would be issued.
Many students now wearing Crocs or Heelys had them previously.
“I had one pair of Heelys my mom bought for me in 5th grade. I couldn’t wear them though because I threw a rock at Tynan Boer,” said Alex Galovan ‘16.
“Yes, who didn’t have crocs?” said Meagan Tran ‘18.
She’s right! Who didn’t have Crocs? Or Heelys? But why are people buying them again?
“Well Crocs are like soccer sandals almost,” said Tran, “They are easy to take off and really comfy.”
“School is boring and it’d be a little more fun to have wheels on my heels”, said Galovan.
Although many people love the fact that Heelys and Crocs are coming back, some aren’t exactly for the idea.
“I gave my Build-A-Bear Heelys and they broke. I was suppose to get a matching pair and then thought they were unreliable. Ever since then I’ve disliked everything about Heelys. So no, I do not want them to come back,” Sydney James ‘18
Danny England ‘18 on the other hand just doesn’t like crocs because they fall off his feet.
Are Heelys and Crocs making a big comeback though?
Luke Morrell ‘18 who owns a pair of Heelys said, “I think that Heelys will just fade away soon.”
“Crocs aren’t coming back as much as I intended but some people have them,” said Kassandra Brown ‘17 who owns a pair of Crocs.
So what do you think? Do you think Heelys and Crocs are making a comeback?
