Friday Dec. 19 marks the first meeting of Otsego and Plainwell boys basketball teams this season.
The Trojans took a tough loss on Tuesday against South Haven, with the final score 48-77 South Haven. Otsego won their game Tuesday Dec. 16, 68-60 against Paw Paw.
“We are going to try our best to win,” said team Captain EJ Finch ‘15, who has 555 career points according to mlive.com.
“Why wouldn’t we win? We have as good of chance as ever,” said captain Trent Monroe ‘15. “I believe it will be a high scoring game and my goals are to get my jersey number in points, and to also not to get dunked on.” (Monroe wears number 52.)
Plainwell’s record so far this year is 2-1, and rival Otsego’s record is 3-0.
“You can throw the records out in a rivalry game,” said Nick Marshall Plainwell High Schoo’ls graduation and retention specialist. “Friday’s game should be close and high scoring,” said Marshall.
