Starbucks or Biggby? A question as old as time. In a survey taken 58.1% of people chose Biggby and 41.9% for Starbucks. While some may have considered Biggby the underdogs, the two ran neck and neck until they came out on top. 

Most chose Biggby for the food and drinks, but ultimately for the price. Surprisingly, people commented on Biggby’s hot chocolate. An interesting star-drink in the midst of lattes and energy drinks. With Starbucks, some commented on the variety of their options and how easy it is to customize drinks. 

Kohler Smith (‘27) said that Starbucks is too expensive. It’s not as expensive to change drinks at Biggby as it is at Starbucks. Some love the seasonal drinks at Biggby such as the mint-chip flavored coffee. If you wanted to go somewhere and study, Starbucks is the clear choice for most for reasons like the environment. Skylar Artman (‘24), who works at Starbucks, enjoys that they decorate for almost every big holiday; for example, Starbucks decorated for Spanish Heritage Month, which many businesses do not even recognize.

While this will always be a polarizing issue, it seems Plainwell High School favors Biggby over Starbucks.
