This year the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show was performed by Usher, who was joined by Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Lil Jon, and Ludacris. There were mixed opinions on how good the halftime show was. According to a form filled out by 44 Plainwell High School students, there was a 50/50 split on whether people enjoyed the halftime show. Most people that formerly liked listening to Usher felt that it was entertaining, while most of those who didn’t like Usher didn’t like the show.
22 Plainwell High School’s students responded positively to the halftime show. “I love Usher and I thought the songs were pretty good,” said Alexa Salo (‘26). Some loved the show because they believe there were some amazing guest performers.
There were also 22 people who didn’t like the show. Those who didn’t like the show claimed it was because they just don’t like Usher. There were a few people who didn’t like it because they only cared about football. “Too long,” said teacher Scott Cool, “I thought the night was about football.” He believes that the Super Bowl shouldn’t be about the halftime show and more focused on the game.
