Is The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 worth seeing? That question may seem stupid seeing as the movie is part of a very successful and popular series, but to my surprise, however, I was let down by the movie and thought it was very anticlimactic.
It had a slow plot development and in the end it came to a screeching halt. All of the fighting and excitement happens in the last 20 minutes of the 2 hour long movie. It felt like they were making the movie, realized they were two hours in, and then tried to wrap it up all in one scene.
The first half of the movie was just talking and planning for the battle that was soon to follow, but the battle only lasted five minutes. There is an explosion and then a bunch of people die, that’s it. They took half the movie to hype up the war and then ended it before you knew it was over. Me being a fan of the books, I was pretty disappointed by what the movie director decided to elaborate on and what he chose to leave out.
The movie itself looked very good and I think the acting wasn’t bad either, it was just the overall build of the movie. It might be because the third movie hyped it up so much and that I wanted it to be the best movie out of all of them, but it just didn’t live up to my expectation of the conclusion of the series.
Should you go see it? I would say yes just because it does wrap up the story and doesn’t really leave any loose end that leave you asking questions. However if you have never seen any of the other movies in the series I would highly suggest starting with the first one and going in order, you won’t be disappointed.
