The Plainwell high school choir had their fall concert Tuesday Oct. 2015.
The show was themed on new renditions of childrens songs. The new versions were re-scored to be more complex, and provide a true concert feel from songs most people are familiar with.
“What Shall we do with a Drunken Sailor?” arranged by David P. DeVenney and “Skip To My Lou” arranged by Paul Busselburg were preformed by members of all choirs.
The women’s choral preformed “Jabberwocky” from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and “Sing” by Joe Raposo, which is featured on Sesame Street.
The men’s choral preformed “Lil’ Liza Jane” arranged by Mark Weston and “We’re the Men” by Jay Althouse” which also featured a select few male members of the 8th grade choir.
The treble choir preformed “Ching-A-Ring Chaw” adapted by Aaron Copland and “Polly Wolly Doodle” arranged by John Leavitt.
The concert choir preformed two pieces also, “Puff the Magic Dragon” by Peter Yarrow and Leonard Lipton, and “I’ve Been Working on the
Railroad” arranged by Don Large.
