Chris Kyle. To most people this name may not sound of any importance, but to people who have served with him or seen the movie “American Sniper”, the name is very important.
Kyle is credited with 160 confirmed kills, making him the most lethal sniper in American history, also earning him the nickname: The Legend. Sadly, Kyle was killed on February 2, 2013 by a veteran that he was trying to help overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The movie portrayed Kyle’s life perfectly, according to a USA Today’s interview with Taya Kyle.
Chris Kyle is played by actor Bradley Cooper and Taya is played by actress Sienna Miller.
“I went to go see ‘American Sniper’ with my boyfriend and his family and I absolutely loved it,” said Abby Blais ‘15. “I really want to go see it again.”
It seems a lot of people have either seen the movie or plan on going to see it.
“I havent seen the movie yet,” says Josh Rumsey ‘16. “I plan on going to see it at some point though.”
The movie depicts the many horrors of war quite explicitly, given its R rating. It also shows how hard it is for a returning soldier to return to civilian life.
The movie is an excellent depiction of a soldier returning from war and the difficulties of returning to regular life.
