Senioritis is a big deal at Plainwell High School, there are a lot of students that have been diagnosed with senioritis, even before their last year of high school. One student that has been hit with a bad case of senioritis is Carson Stoneburner ‘19. He admits to all of the elements of senioritis with no shame.

The elements of senioritis are, missing excessive amounts of school, complaining the entire time you’re at school and just generally being miserable and having no lack of motivation for school.

“Yes I do have senioritis. Being here is the worst part of school and leaving is the best. When I’m not here, I just go to work. I have had it since freshmen year, and it has affected my grades…big time,” said Stoneburner.

Most students have the same view and being treated like a child is on the top of their list as to why they hate being in high school. One student that feels this way is Haylie Chamberlin ‘19.

“Yes, I probably have the worst case of senioritis. The worst part of being here is that we are treated like children and I don’t like being treated like a child,” said Chamberlin.

She states that she  likes nothing about coming to school. All she does when she isn’t at school is do homework and go to work. Haylie got senioritis the middle of her junior year and it has only grown stronger since. It has made her not care about her grades because she just wants out.

When it comes to senioritis there are a lot of forms, one common form is not attending school. Another common form is when you attend school and don’t do any of your work.

Senioritis is a big deal in the Plainwell Community, a large amount of the student population have “senioritis” even a large amount of students that aren’t seniors have senioritis.
