With Halloween around the corner, haunted houses will be happening. However, instead of a clown wearing a bloody smile; they will be wearing a mask instead. 

“Haunted houses are so scary, I really don’t want to wear a mask but like, I’m still gonna get scared. I don’t even like haunted houses like that. I just like going so I can hold hands with my homies” said Nathan Faupel ‘21

Many haunted houses in southwest Michigan are taking the same COVID-19 precautions. Upon arrival, most places will be taking a participants temperature. Along with taking temperatures, masks will be required. There will be hand-sanitizer stations located in various locations. Social distancing will be upheld to the best of their ability. Now that the new rules set in place are known, here are some of the spooky places that may peak your interest.

The first place is The Haunt in Wyoming, Michigan. They have a 4 star rating on Google with a fee being $30 per person.

The second option is Terror in The Park Haunted House, South Haven, Michigan. The admission price is $12. “This haunted attraction is a little better for younger ones” according to an anonymous online reviewer.

The third suggestion is Moonlight Manor, also in Wyoming. This place has achieved a rating of 3.9 stars according to Google.

The fourth venue is Witches of New Salem, Dorr Michigan. The place received the highest of the listed haunted houses at 4.7 star rating. There are four possible activities; one activity is $25, two activities is $40, three activities is $50, and four activities is $60. The corn haunted corn maze is their main attraction. As you make your way around the maze there are different obstacles to go through; along with people running after you.

The fifth place to consider is the Psycho Ward Haunted House, Kalamazoo. With a 3.7 star rating this place comes at the worst rated on this list. However, that does not take away from the fact that it is still very highly rated. The cost of admission is $15 for the minimal amount of activities, or $25 for everything
