In an unusual twist from sparkles and glam, the theme “Into the Woods” brought a new perspective to the Homecoming dance. Many changes took place to make Homecoming this year more unique and separate it from previous year’s.
Now, taking recommendations before the dance for music and a simpler theme, changes have happened.
“Ongoing work to make decisions,” said teacher Andrew Hansen, as progress to plan dance is up until very end.
“Requests at the dance give repeats and reveal complaints from the DJ,” said Hansen regarding the new pre-requests on songs.
“Won’t be as fun as previous dances,” said Shannon Jewel ‘19 when asked about what she thinks might happen with the new song recommendations rules. Students all across grades seem to have had a similar sediment.
“I could care less,” said Kasen Gavalias ‘22 responding to a question about a simpler theme. The sediment is that students are going to the dance despite changes they seem to be against.
The new DJ sparked various opinions from students that attended the dance.
“He was very energetic,” said Karley Way ‘21 when she described the new DJ and her experience.
“I thought he was not very…good,” said Claire Awe ‘20
Into the Woods is a change that no one was expected, but the dance overall was not that much different than previous years, other than the new song recommendations. The new DJ even gave the dance new life whether people liked him or not. Whether it led to improvement of music and a disruption in peoples funk, the dance was very similar to previous.
