MOXY. CHIC. GUMPTION.
Hunter Button ‘19 is often seen wearing his iconic denim jacket. Hunter personalizes his simple style piece with a wide variety of pins and patches, including a large Joe Jonas statement pin he picked up from the local Goodwill. The denim jacket has remained a timeless style, but paired with a graphic tee this look is a flashback to the 90’s. Hunter confides he acquires most of his pins from Goodwill, the Salvation Army, and Satellite Records (a small record store in Kalamazoo). Pins, patches, and other personalizations are small things you can add to your outfit to radiate a retro look.
assy and Chic
Alivia Ayers ‘19 showcases her secondhand style by rocking a slouchy low-cut sweater with a flattering high waist fit. “I thrifted the sweater from Goodwill and the jeans from Salvation Army,” Ayers proudly stated. The belt and boots she bought online, but combined with her vintage clothing it results in an 80’s chic outfit with a hint of 90’s.
One added bonus for high waisted jeans is that girls can experience the joy of normal pockets, unlike today’s skinny jeans that can’t even hold your phone.
This simple style is a classic look with a flattering fit. Accenting any outfit with bold colors, like the black belt and boots, can add flare to any look.
