Senate recently sponsored an informal dance called “Spring Fling.” But this will be the first and last time doing it.
The reason why is because the attendance was too low. And because not a lot of people thought it was “cool” or it sounded lame and a waste of time and money.
“They didn’t really give us enough time to know what it is, and it doesn’t sound very fun”. Said Bethany Benton ‘19.
On the other hand Hannah Rasnake said, “It was a lot of fun and it was different from all the other dances, and they played the music differently”.
“Her boyfriend and her don’t really dance and that they would rather spend their time at home watching Tv or a movie”. Said Alley Briggs ‘19.
Alison Cerka said she didn’t go because she thought it would be boring.
Why they tried doing this new dance was because the Student Senate were getting a lot of complaints about the music at the formal dances, so they used one of the teachers Spotify’s and just played it off speakers, according to organizer Jaylee Streeter. And apparently the kids who went liked it a lot better.
But only about 20 people showed up, and not a lot of people were dancing, said Streeter. They also didn’t have a photo booth, to save money they just decorated one of the doors as the Hawaiian theme, and they just took the pictures off their phone.
Talk among students was that they actually liked the photo booth better because you could fit more people into the picture.
